Staff Sergeant Stephen McCarthy, USMCR
Staff Sergeant Stephen McCarthy served in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1994. He began on active duty with Marine Aircraft Group 49 (MAG-49), Detachment A. After completing active duty in September 1989, he continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserve with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 771 (HML-771). From January to November 1991, he was activated in support of Operation Desert Storm. His years in Marine aviation gave him a lasting respect for the Marines who keep the air wing flying, and for the families who support them.
After leaving the Marine Corps, Stephen built a career in technology. He is currently the Managing Partner of 2Squared LLC and STEMAC Inc., boutique consulting firms specializing in SAP solutions.
As President of the Marine Aviation Brotherhood, Stephen is focused on giving back to the families of Marines who served in the air wing. Under his leadership, the Brotherhood brings members together through reunions and supports the next generation through scholarships and educational opportunities. His aim is for the bonds formed in service to reach the families who stood behind those Marines.
Stephen and his wife, Jane, have two sons, Jack and Andrew.
Paul Jennings/Treasurer 
Paul signed his enlistment contract in 1969. After completing MCRD/ITR he was assigned an MOS of 0331 M60 Machine Gunner. He served one tour in Viet Nam. After returning home he was stationed at Camp Lejuene, where he was discharged after fulfilling his original enlistment.
In 1973, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves HML-771, Mag49,DetA.stationed at South Weymouth, Naval Air Station. In 1975 he earned his Air Crew Wings, where he transitioned from 0331 to a 6174 Helicopter Crew Chief. Paul was deployed with the squadron in 1991 during Desert Storm.
In 1994, after 25 years of Honorable Service he retired as a Master Sergeant. Paul continued his service by entering into the Law Enforcement Field. He was hired by the Plymouth Police Department. In 2017 Paul retired from the Plymouth Police as a Detective.
Today he continues to advocate for veterans and supports veterans organizations through his memberships with the VFW and American Legion. Paul married in 1973, he and his wife moved to Plymouth, where they raised their two boys and a niece. Paul was married for 51 years when his wife was stricken with cancer and passed away in 2024.
Jim Shore/Secretary 
Jim served in the Marine Corps from 1987 to 2003, as a Huey Helicopter Crew Chief/Door Gunner (6174) with HML-771, Mag-49-Det A since 1988. He was part of the squadron when it was activated for Desert Storm in 1991. After the squadron was decommissioned in 2001, Jim joined the 25th Marines as the Regimental Admin Chief (0193) until 2003. Jim retired as a Gunnery Sargeant after 15 years.
Jim continues to support the Veteran community through the Tough Ruck (military marathon to raise money for Gold Star families), Irreverent Warriors (Lead Coordinator/Support Element for Boston, MA), Mentor for Military transitioning in the Medical/Life Science Industry (MedTechVets) and 22Mohawks (helping other Veterans with finding companion dogs through the Pups For Vets program).
Today, Jim is the Chief Quality Officer of Quality Lean Solutions, a consulting company supporting Medical Device and Life Science companies in Quality, Compliance, and Operational Excellence. Jim lives in Worcester area with his wife and two adult kids, and his dogs.
Rob Mudge/Director 
Rob joined the USMC Reserves in 1987 and after completing MCRD Parris Island studied Business at Rhode Island College. He served with HML-771 from boot camp through decommissioning in 1994. Activated with the squadron for Operation Desert Storm from January to November 1991, Rob served as the Embarkation NCO for the squadron. During his time in the service Rob developed an immense respect for the people that put their country first and sacrifice so much to defend it. He has stayed involved with veterans issues and continues to support veterans and their families.
After the Marine Corps Rob worked in the fluid power industry for 30 years in roles with wholesale distributors and Parker Hannifin Corporation.
Today Rob is a small business consultant at Connection Technologies, LLC. His works is focused on all manner of management and sales management consulting for small to medium sized companies in the fluid power market selling to diverse industries.
Rob is the President of the Historic Metcalf Franklin Farm Association, a 501C-3 charity based in Cumberland Rhode Island whose mission is to restore, preserve, and protect the Historic Metcalf – Franklin Farm. Rob has served on the board of the HMFFPA for the last ten years as President, Vice President, Director, and Chair of the Grounds Committee. He has been an active member of the association since 2006. The farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a community hub where the all-volunteer association works to restore the historic barns and farmhouse, holds educational programs to connect school-age kids with their food systems, and runs the community gardens where about 30,000 of pounds of farm fresh vegetables are grown and donated to area food pantries each season.

Sean’s military service began in 1986 with the United States Marine Corps reserve. He served with HML-771 for 7 years before transferring to VMGR-452 for one year. After about an 11 year break in service, he joined the RI Army National Guard where he served for 12 years before retiring in 2020.
Sean was an Employee of Verizon as a service technician and also a lineman. He currently is retired and enjoying spending time between Yuma Arizona and Southern Rhode Island.
